This shot is interesting in so many ways. My first impression was of a lonely country road, but on second look you can see the city skyline in the background beyond the river (lake?). I often come across ideas for shots simply by driving around and seeing what "speaks" to me, which is what this shot reminds me of: just a bend in the road that sparks an interest.

There are a couple of technical points that did catch my eye though. First, the horizon line of the trees/sky seems to be a little slanted, but the curve in the road suggests that it comes up over a hill, so it may just be an optical illusion. There is also something blurred in the lower right corner that is somewhat distracting to the picture overall, so a TINY bit of cropping would solve that. Lastly, a slight adjustment to either the overall contrast or the balance between shadows and highlights MIGHT bring more definition to the cityscape beyond the river and the trees. But these are all in my opinion MINOR technical points. The overall impact of the image is great.

And this may just be me, but for some reason I can imagine a motorcycle or sports car speeding around this curve.
